Katelynn Powell

Katelynn’s passion for musical theatre began at a very young age and has flourished over the years. During her formative years, she honed her craft at local venues such as Stage Right, The Theater Factory, and Jeter Backyard Theater—her aunt’s theater company in Cranberry. In high school, Katelynn performed in Penn-Trafford High School's Drama Guild productions, with her favorite roles being Queen Aggravain in Once Upon a Mattress and Paulette in Legally Blonde.

Her contributions extended beyond performance; she also lent her artistic talents to painting and designing sets for nearly every production she was involved in. In addition to her theatrical work, Katelynn devoted herself to vocal training, which led to her competing in PMEA choirs at the district and state levels. She earned top honors, including Chair 1 at PMEA District 1 Choir (Alto 2) and Chair 8 at PMEA State Choir (Alto 2) in 2016—competing against the best Alto 2s in the state of Pennsylvania.

Katelynn continued her artistic journey at Penn State, where she performed with the university’s premier show choir, The Singing Lions, while pursuing a degree in Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship through the Smeal College of Business. She is trained to sing in a variety of styles including musical theatre, pop, and classical.

Katelynn is passionate about helping students find their unique voice through exploration, confidence building, and fine tuning vocal technique. Inspired by the mentors who shaped her own journey, she is committed to nurturing the next generation of performers—not only as artists, but as confident, creative, and resilient individuals.
